How do you feel about chips? Most likely, if you have tried them at least once, the answer will be: "They are very tasty, but harmful!" No wonder. As biologists have proved, the human body is “programmed” to preserve the mass, and therefore we are a priori to taste high-calorie, fatty and nourishing food. Perhaps there are no people able to resist the sweet cream cake (those who consider themselves sweets) or fried meat or poultry (those who do not honor sweets). Chips - one of the examples of such food, and your addiction is nothing to do with. If you have tried buying chips at least once, then you know that it is delicious! But another thing is also true - chips manufactured industrially are quite harmful. The fact is that for their preparation, potatoes are not only fried in a large amount of oil, which is not very good for our body, but also actively sprinkled with sodium glutomate afterwards. This component is an amplifier of taste, that is, tasteless in itself, but at the same time it enhances our gastronomic sensations. That is why children love croutons and chips so much and can eat them without measure.

This is not to say that homemade chips can be made very useful. Still, fried potatoes - a mixture of carbohydrates and fat, not very useful for the waist. But if you feast on a little and not in the evening, then why not? In addition, we offer to your attention chips of pita, not high-calorie crispy delicacy, and cheese chips. You can also try making a carrot or zucchini snack.

Home-made chips - preparing food and dishes

By and large, any housewife can make homemade chips. You do not need complex kitchen appliances - after all, not everyone has a fryer, but there is an ordinary frying pan, oven or microwave in almost every home. But a knife for cleaning vegetables will be very useful and necessary in the preparation of chips. There is such a thing no more than 40-50 rubles (15-20 UAH), but it makes life easier for cooks. This knife is very convenient to peel the peel from vegetables and fruits and thinly thinly cut vegetables. But without this knife, slicing chips is very subtle and almost impossible. You can buy such a useful "trick" in the store or on the market.

Chips are most often made from potatoes, so in most of the proposed recipes it will be the main and practically the only ingredient. What about spices? After all, chips come in with bacon, chicken or cheese? That's right, because you also need aromatic salt - on the store shelf of such additives a huge variety, you can choose to taste. But remember that this ingredient contains a flavor enhancer, which we discussed above, and therefore you can eat more chips with this salt than without it.

Recipe 1: Homemade Potato Chips

The simplest chips are, of course, those that are prepared with a minimum set of efforts and time. You will need a regular frying pan, a plate and a knife for cleaning vegetables in order to turn the potatoes into thin slices. Of course, if you compare homemade chips with those in the package, the difference can be seen with the naked eye. And yet the recipe is good, and the dish turns out excellent - what as a supplement to beer, or as a separate delicacy. Before use, cool to room temperature.

Ingredients Required:

  • Potatoes 5-6 tubers
  • Aromatic salt
  • Refined vegetable oil

Cooking method:

  1. Wash potatoes, peel, and cut into thin slices, best using a knife to peel vegetables. The slice thickness should be about 2 mm.
  2. After that, we put the mugs of potatoes in water for five minutes, after this period of time we drain the water, and again fill it with clean water. We perform the procedure until the potatoes become transparent and the water stops turning white. This procedure helps to wash all the starch from the potato.
  3. Heat the pan and pour one centimeter thick oil. Spread mugs of chips so that they do not touch.
  4. Fry the potato slices on both sides, then lay them on a plate, sprinkle with salt and leave to cool.

Recipe 2: Homemade chips in the microwave

Is it possible to cook dietary chips? You can, if we do them in the microwave. To prepare such a dish, we do not need oil at all.

Ingredients Required:

  • Potatoes 5-6 tubers
  • Aromatic salt

Cooking method:

  1. Wash the potatoes with the peel, peel, then with a knife for vegetables, cut them in very thin circles. Repeat the procedure with leaching of starch - several times pour the slices with water until it becomes transparent.
  2. Let the potatoes dry out - place it on paper or regular towels and leave for ten minutes. Salt it.
  3. Put the chips on a plate so that they do not touch, and cook for eight minutes at a power of 900 watts. To roast the dish more evenly, you can turn the slices, but even without this, the chips turn out to be tasty and roast, while not completely fat.

If you do not have a microwave, but you want to “ease” the chips and minimize oil consumption, then use the oven for cooking.

  • Potatoes
  • Aromatic salt
  • Sunflower oil refined

Cooking method:

  1. Prepare the potato as in the previous recipe. Do not forget to dry it with paper towels.
  2. Put dry potatoes in a deep container, sprinkle with oil and salt. Leave the potato slices for 10-15 minutes to soak it.
  3. On the deck for baking, without oiling, we spread the chips so that they do not touch. Sent to the oven for fifteen minutes to dry at a temperature of two hundred degrees. Do not forget to look at the potatoes, because depending on what kind of oven you have, the dish can be burnt.

Recipe 4: Homemade Pita Chips

When you eat purchased chips from a pack, can you say with certainty that you eat potatoes? Ready to argue that no! Chips are something thin and crunchy, with the aroma of mushrooms or jelly, but the potato is almost invisible. We offer you a delicious recipe for pita chips - to taste they will be exactly your favorite “crisps” from the package, and only you will know the secret of this dish.

Ingredients Required:

  • Lavash thin Armenian
  • Fresh dried dill
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic 3 prong
  • Salt

Cooking method:

  1. Wash my dill and finely-finely, mix with oil and salt. Add garlic squeezed through a press, mix.

  • Potatoes 4-5 tubers
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • Salt and spices
  • Butter (for lubricating waffle iron)

Cooking method:

  1. Peel potatoes, regime, and cook on a stove in a saucepan as for the usual mashed potatoes. We grind with the help of a crush into a homogeneous mass - the puree should be of a uniform consistency, without lumps.
  2. In mashed potatoes (slightly heated) add the egg, flour and milk and mix with a blender. The resulting mass should resemble a cream and be quite rare, but not liquid, otherwise the "dough" will flow out of the waffle iron.
  3. Add salt and spice to potatoes. You can take aromatic salt from the store, or you can use dried peppers, mushrooms, and greens.
  4. Waffle iron can use the most simple, Soviet times. Heat it and oil it. Oil must be refined, odorless. Olive oil is also not suitable.
  5. Put on the surface a tablespoon of potato "dough", lightly smear and bake. Consider that the chips burn very quickly, and therefore they need to bake no more than thirty to forty seconds, then open the lid and reach with a knife.

It does not matter whether you like cheese or are indifferent to it, cheese chips will surprise you and will be remembered as a tasty and nourishing snack. By the way, it is possible to make such chips from stale cheese - for example, in your refrigerator there is already a week a piece of cheese that no one eats, but it’s a shame to throw it away. Well, let's put it into action!

Cooking method:

  1. We rub cheese on a fine grater and lay out in small piles on the deck for baking. It is necessary to put so that the "heaps", as they melt, do not join together - that is, at a sufficient distance from each other.
  2. Put the cheese deck in the oven and leave for four to six minutes at a temperature of one hundred and sixty degrees. The process of melting cheese is very fast, and therefore the chips need to get as soon as a brown crust appears, otherwise the cheese will burn. That's all. Cool and serve.
