Australian scientists have discovered in the flower of tobacco a molecule with pronounced anti-cancer properties. Usually, this molecule is directed against various bacteria and fungi - thus self-defense of the plant works. Scientists were struck by the fact that a molecule possessing these properties was found in a carcinogenic plant.

Research is currently being conducted on the possible use of this molecule in the treatment of cancer.

Pre-clinical trials are more than encouraging. One of the most difficult problems in the field of cancer treatment is the effect of anticancer therapy on the entire body, while perhaps the molecule found can only affect the affected cells.
