Rice with prunes - general principles of preparation

Prunes for dishes are washed, often pre-soaked, then cut. If raisins are also used in the dish, then the slices should match in size. Sometimes prunes are laid whole. For pilaf, dried fruits are fried in oil, then rice, spices are added to them, water or broth is poured.

Sweet Rice with Prunes and Raisins

A variant of sweet rice porridge with prunes and raisins, which is great for breakfast or afternoon snack. Instead of honey, sugar can be added to taste.

Ingredients

• 200 g of rice;

• 50 g of prunes;

• 50 g of raisins;

• 50 g of honey;

• 40 g butter;

Cooking

1. Pour raisins and prunes into bowls, individually pour hot. By water. We leave dried fruits for swelling.

Rice with prunes in the oven (with chicken)

The recipe for a full-fledged rice dish with prunes in the oven, which does not need a side dish or meat supplement. Chicken fillet is used.

Ingredients

• 500 g fillet;

• 400 g of rice;

• 1 carrot;

• 1 onion;

• head of garlic;

• 100 g of prunes;

• 40 g ghee.

Of the spices you will need turmeric, salt, black pepper, dry barberry.

Cooking

1. Rinse the rice several times, fill it with warm salted water, set aside.

2. Cut the onions and carrots into strips, fry in ghee.

3. Chicken fillet cut into cubes, add to vegetables.

4. Fry everything for a couple of minutes, turn it off.

5. We shift vegetables with chicken in a baking dish.

6. Rinse the prunes, cut into halves, sprinkle the layer on top.

7. Add a little dry barberry, scatter the cloves of garlic.

8. Drain the water from the rice, which is not absorbed, lay the cereal on top.

9. Add some salt and other spices to the water, fill the mold. Water should cover rice 2 cm.

10. Cover the form with foil, put in the oven for 45 minutes. The dish is cooked at 180.

11. Take out, remove the foil, mix. In the process, remove whole cloves of garlic from the dish.

12. Put the dish in plates, serve it with pickles, fresh vegetables, decorate with herbs.

Oven Rice Casserole in the Oven

A recipe for a very tender, tasty and sweet rice casserole with prunes. The dish is ideal for dessert or afternoon snack.

Ingredients

• 100 g of rice;

• 300 ml of milk;

• 200 g of prunes;

• 80 g of sugar;

• 10 g of oil.

Cooking

1. Rice must be thoroughly washed, sorted, boiled in milk until tender. It will turn porridge. Cool, add 1 tablespoon of sugar, beat with a blender.

2. In another saucepan, boil the prunes in a small amount of water. Drain all the liquid into a bowl, and grind dried fruits.

Rice with prunes, raisins and dried apricots

A variant of sweet pilaf, which is very simple and easy to prepare. The dish will especially appeal to children. Instead of ordinary butter, you can use ghee. The taste will be no less interesting.

Ingredients

• a glass of rice;

• 70 g of prunes;

• 70 g of raisins;

• 50 g dried apricots;

• 50 g butter;

• 1 sec. l Sahara.

Cooking

1. Pour rice with water. Leave for 20 minutes.

2. Rinse dried apricots and prunes, cut dried fruits into slices the size of one zest or slightly larger.

3. Rinse just rinse and wring.

4. Melt the butter in a pan or in a cauldron. Spread dried fruits, fry for five minutes.

5. Drain water from rice, transfer the cereal to dried fruits in oil.

6. Add 3 cups of hot water and a spoonful of sugar, stir.

7. Cook the pilaf under the lid for 20 minutes.

Rice with prunes and apples in the oven

The recipe for a simple and quick casserole that can be made from leftover rice, fresh and dried fruit.

Ingredients

• 2 cups of boiled rice;

• 50 g of prunes;

• 1-2 apples;

• 3 tablespoons of crackers;

• 50 g of oil;

• 1 egg;

• 100 g of sugar.

Cooking

1. Preheat the oven, set in the oven 200 degrees.

2. Fill prunes with hot water for 5 minutes.

3. Pour rice into a bowl, add sugar.

4. A piece of oil, grease the form, sprinkle thickly with crackers.

5. Peel the apple, cut the slices and also transfer to a bowl.

6. Add the raw egg.

Bukhara rice pilaf with prunes and raisins

A variant of delicious pilaf without meat in Bukhara. It is recommended to use long basmati rice.

Ingredients

• 2 onions;

• 2 carrots;

• a handful of prunes;

• a handful of raisins;

• 1 tsp spices for pilaf;

• 1 cup of rice;

• 50 g of oil;

• laurel, garlic.

Cooking

1. Soak dried fruits together or separately, it does not matter. The main thing is to wash them thoroughly before doing so.

2. Onion cut in half rings, chop the carrots with straws.

3. Pour oil into the cauldron, warm it up. We shift vegetables, fry.

4. Add squeezed raisins, followed by prunes.

5. Pour spices for pilaf, salt.

6. Rice washed several times. Ideally, the water changes 7 times, in which case the pilaf will be correct. We shift rice to vegetables and fruits.

7. Stir, level.

8. Stick a few cloves of garlic.

9. Pour boiling water at the rate of 2 parts liquid to 1 part rice. We throw a bay leaf on top.

10. Close the cauldron with a lid, cook pilaf for 20 minutes on low heat, then insist for another 30 minutes. The lid cannot be lifted all this time.

Stuffed Chicken Rice with Oven Prunes

A variant of a meat dish of chicken stuffed with prunes. Rice is better to use long, it will turn out tastier and more beautiful.

Ingredients

• 1 chicken up to 2 kg;

• 1 cup boiled rice;

• 150 g of prunes;

• 1 tsp spices for chicken;

• 40 g butter;

• 3 tablespoons of soy sauce;

• 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise.

Cooking

1. Mix soy sauce with mayonnaise and seasonings for chicken. You can take another mixture of spices to your taste.

2. We wash the chicken carcass outside and inside. Wipe with paper towels to get rid of water droplets. Otherwise, the marinade will penetrate poorly into the tissue.

3. Rub the carcass with the prepared sauce on all sides, you can add salt.

4. Pull the skin on the breasts, stick pieces of butter.

5. If time permits, put the chicken in a bag, leave to marinate.

6. We mix chopped prunes with boiled rice, salt and pepper, if desired, you can add chopped apple or quince, it will also be delicious.

7. Fill the inside of the chicken with rice mixture, sew in the abdomen, or simply bind together the legs that will not allow the filling to fall out.

8. Put the chicken in the oven. Cooking an hour at 180 degrees.

Rice with prunes - useful tips and tricks

• Rice will be tastier if you add a piece of butter during cooking or pour in a little vegetable oil.

• For cooking rice, it is better to use a pan with a thick bottom and always with a tight lid. Grain will turn out much tastier.

• To get friable rice, salt it must be at the very end of cooking.

• Soak dried fruits in hot water, but not in boiling water. Otherwise, the top layer will become loose, will separate, and spoil the appearance of the dish.

• Use 2 parts of water to cook loose rice. But this does not work if the cereal is pre-soaked and saturated with moisture. In this case, less fluid is needed. If the dish has a lot of dried fruits that have not been soaked, then more water will be needed.
